{ Red. White. Blue. }

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays because of the fireworks.  My family is home to a few pyromaniacs, so I’ve always had a great display for every fourth and special family holidays {weddings, graduations, etc.}

4th of July

This year the Fourth was spent in our new home, and I took advantage of the long weekend to work on a few projects!

ABP’s 4th of July Projects:

  • Flowers on Steps ($1.00/pot + paint pots with chippy white paint + small chalkboard squares painted on to the chippy white flower pots + chalk to describe flowers, our last name, and address numbers! = super cute walkway for the mailman, aka riley’s nemesis)

Porch

  • Project Motivation :) Red & White Drinks + Way Cute Red White & Blue Straws in Ball Jar

  • Flowers in Hanging Baskets

  • Pulled the Weeds

  • Boulevard Flowers: Everyone living in the Boulevards has an opportunity to claim a Boulevard Planter, but it’s first come first serve.  I planted these babies in late May, but they are just blooming so well, I had to post.  Plus, it’s a miracle they’ve made it till July and are holding strong… another reason to celebrate!!

Last thing… I have a Red Dilemma: To keep or not to keep the front door red/burgundy, paint it a bolder true red, paint in black, or other ideas?

June Bug

Ever since I was little, I can't hardly wait for summer to arrive. I'm not sure if it was for school to get out or because my birthday is June 3rd. But none-the-less, I'm a June bug. I always start celebrating summer a little early!
Riley likes to celebrate summer too by walking with me to get ice cream from down the street at Kovenor's Korner! Check out the cool 1950's photo above of the ice cream stand around the corner from our new house. The owners converted an old gasoline station to this ice cream stand in 1949, and it's still hopping today! Helps me really appreciate the neighborhood and history of our home!
ps...my birthday week was amazing. I have a gazillion birthday cards added to my mantle, new golf clubs, picture frame, "Promise" figurine for my new office, and a great time celebrating with my family and Mr!

Welcome to Our First Home...

Right before Octoberfest, Michael and I drove by this house for sale... I kept envisioning how cute it would be to have pumpkins on the steps in the fall and a Christmas wreath on the front door and garland and lights down the stair rails for the holidays! Well... after many long months of negotiating and inspections and financing, we finally bought our 1920's bungalow in January of this year. Here's what it looked like on moving day! (Brrr... January in Indiana!)
Here are our "moving in" pictures...
Thank you for stopping by! More photos of our decor and projects to come!
Always, Natalie
